Jacob C. Rea, LMT

A back injury in my early 20’s had me hospitalized in traction for approximately 3-months. With no surgical intervention options available and after being told that I would have to learn to live with the pain of my injury for the rest of my life, I was given a hand full of prescriptions and sent home to live in a medicated stupor and await my wheel-chair. It was my father, a retired Air-Force Medic/ Acupuncturist / Massage Therapist who convinced me to allow him, along with his chiropractor to treat me. After a few months of deep muscle therapy and the occasional adjustment (when the pain was at bay, long enough to allow me to get to a car), I began walking with a walker. After a couple of months with a walker, I graduated to walking with a cane, then on to walking with the assistance of the occasional wall for support.

Throughout my experience, I learned how a pain can grip a person and keep the imprisoned. It was after I began walking without pain and without medication that I decided it was time for me to give back and help others.  I entered Massage Therapy School in 1996 and graduated in 1997, in San Antonio, Texas. With a quest for knowledge, I began taking as many classes as possible. I focused on therapies that interested me. My interests took me as far away as France, Italy, Switzerland, England and Japan for classes. Each country opened up new understandings and approaches to “body-work,” that has helped me develop into the Therapist I am today.

Along with classes in “body-work”, I have taken classes in Colon-hydrotherapy, Herbology, and Hypnotherapy and continued my study in Psychology.

I specialize in Myopractic® Therapy, Deep Tissue, Medical Massage, Swedish, Sports Massage, Reflexology, Trigger Point Therapy, Esalen, Chronic Pain Therapy, and Craino-Sacral Therapy.

I am a walking example to how a person can break out of the cycle of pain and function normally, without medication.  Let my experience and knowledge help you do the same.
